Gernando Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Richard Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gernando Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Carvalho having to interfere. Guaxinins do Cerrado F.C.'s Nuno Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Netto in the 14th minute of play. The BAHIA fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when BAHIA's Franklin Bricaud looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Bricaud in the 18th minute of play forced Guaxinins do Cerrado F.C.'s goalkeeper Nuno Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Egun took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Richard Carvalho. Richard Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Guaxinins do Cerrado F.C.'s Reynaldo Egun in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BAHIA's goalie prevented a goal. 27 minutes into the game, BAHIA's Luiz Fábio Alvarenga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nuno Gaspar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Guaxinins do Cerrado F.C.'s Gernando Prata got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leandro Alvarenga lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in BAHIA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Guaxinins do Cerrado F.C. a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eliézer Netto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of BAHIA's Richard Carvalho. 2-3. The supporters of Guaxinins do Cerrado F.C. booed when BAHIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Carvalho acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jardel Motta.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franklin Bricaud made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Franklin Bricaud kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nuno Gaspar. That made the score 2-4 in the 52 minute of play. If Reynaldo Egun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute Gernando Prata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Gernando Prata had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Richard Carvalho. BAHIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gernando Prata was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. Reynaldo Egun took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Richard Carvalho. Richard Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-4. Richard Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Egun in the 70th minute of play forced BAHIA's goalkeeper Richard Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando Prata in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Reynaldo Egun made a precise shot to the right of Richard Carvalho. BAHIA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliézer Netto in the 83rd minute of play forced BAHIA's goalkeeper Richard Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Valdir Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. BAHIA's Vicente Medeiros was substituted for Orlando Gaspar. In the 88th minute, Gernando Prata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute, BAHIA's Luiz Fábio Alvarenga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nuno Gaspar. Nuno Gaspar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-5. Reynaldo Egun scored 6-5 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Richard Carvalho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Guaxinins do Cerrado F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while BAHIA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
