The Esperantina SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo da Rocha should have stopped the shot. In the 12thth minute of the game Allan Sabóia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MURURÉ FC's Jorge Gerber was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Allan Sabóia might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Gerber. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allan Sabóia ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorge Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Lenílson de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. MURURÉ FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lenílson de Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lenílson de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esperantina SS's Ricardo da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson de Moraes in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute, MURURÉ FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Geraldo Bastos fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 33rd minute of the match Dito Ribeiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Gerber skillfully saved the ball. After 35th play minutes Allan Sabóia shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Jorge Gerber and just under the crossbar into goal. When Elói Mello fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esperantina SS's protests and gave Elói Mello a yellow card for diving instead. In the 48th minute, Elói Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Allan Sabóia to make the kick off. If Felippe Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Allan Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Allan Sabóia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Gerber was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. MURURÉ FC's Felippe Netto got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Esperantina SS's goalkeeper Ricardo da Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felippe Netto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenílson de Moraes in the 92nd minute of play forced Esperantina SS's goalkeeper Ricardo da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Felippe Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ademir Arruda charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ademir Arruda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 97 played minutes Esperantina SS got a freekick which was hit by Ademir Arruda. The long shot by Geovânio Perez in the 98th minute really tested Ricardo da Rocha's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
