The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Renato Passos got free with José Augusto Donatello in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gugu Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. José Augusto Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC. Vila Caputera's Luís Fábio Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilton Duarte in the 13th minute of play. Luís Fábio Figueiredo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Delfim Ramos went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 20 minutes into the match, SC. Vila Caputera's goal looked a bit too open when Nilton Duarte came free, but Luís Fábio Figueiredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Fábio Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Júnior Prata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but José Augusto Donatello made a huge save. Fellipe Amaral hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Luís Fábio Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Braga in the 33rd minute of play. Júnior Prata blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Augusto Donatello having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in SKOL SENSATION 2014's zone, Gugu Hoffmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Augusto Donatello came out of the goal and Gugu Hoffmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the match, Gugu Hoffmann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Augusto Donatello. SKOL SENSATION 2014's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gugu Hoffmann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Romeu Recife kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th match minute, SC. Vila Caputera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. SKOL SENSATION 2014's Nilton Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Digo Araújo came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the SC. Vila Caputera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Digo Araújo couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Júnior Prata ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Augusto Donatello was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 71 minutes into the game, Arthur Chaves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SKOL SENSATION 2014's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC. Vila Caputera the free kick. The supporters of SC. Vila Caputera booed when SKOL SENSATION 2014 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Digo Araújo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Augusto Donatello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. If Júnior Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Augusto Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior Prata in the 83rd minute of play. In the 88th minute Nilton Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Fábio Figueiredo was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Nilton Duarte capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nilton Duarte really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the SC. Vila Caputera players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
