The corner ended in Miguel Sabóia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Trocadeiro's Baltazar Albuquerque did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Trocadeiro's zone, Abel Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar Albuquerque came out of the goal and Abel Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Trocadeiro's goalkeeper Baltazar Albuquerque, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Armandinho Favoretto hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Miguel Sabóia hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Abel Abreu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baltazar Albuquerque having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Paulo José Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ossuna's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo José Britto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
