After 24 played minutes Taquary got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Ortiz. After a defensive mix-up in Taquary's zone, Ezequiel Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel França came out of the goal and Ezequiel Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nilton Senna might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michel França. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilton Senna ran back to his position shaking his head. João Vítor de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armandinho Pitta, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Taquary's goalkeeper Michel França, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lenílson Campidelis hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute of the match Fernandinho Mandrak shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Vítor de Carvalho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Adhemar Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel França having to interfere. Taquary's Joel Trancoso suffered a concussion in the 41st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. In the 42nd match minute, Botucudo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adhemar Ramalho to maneuver through the defense.
