Válter Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar de Barros in the 10th minute of the match. Cauã Pombal hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Natanael Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Válter Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar de Barros did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Válter Queirós 19 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Natanael Furlan in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Válter Queirós saved Petrolina AD from getting behind. Válter Queirós made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Natanael Furlan sent off a good shot on target. 29 minutes into the match, Petrolina AD's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar de Barros came free, but Válter Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Natanael Furlan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Válter Queirós when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 32 minutes, Natanael Furlan made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Petrolina AD's Válter Queirós tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35thth minute of the game Oscar de Barros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petrolina AD's Válter Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquim Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Natanael Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Válter Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Oscar de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 48 minutes into the game, when Augusto Pombal put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Petrolina AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Aguai SS:s goal. In the 50th minute, Aguai SS got a penalty, and Paulinho Cearense placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laerte Fernandes made a kick off. Laerte Fernandes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Joaquim Brito made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Fernandes got free with Joaquim Brito in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Natanael Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Natanael Furlan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Válter Queirós having to make a save. 70 minutes into the match, Petrolina AD's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar de Barros came free, but Válter Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Válter Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar de Barros scored 5-1 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Válter Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Aguai SS's goalkeeper Joaquim Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oscar de Barros in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Válter Queirós saved Petrolina AD from getting behind. If Natanael Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laerte Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Petrolina AD defense, Oscar de Barros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Válter Queirós. The Petrolina AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Válter Queirós should have stopped the shot.
