In the 11th minute, Vila Mariana F.C.'s Dráusio de Senna dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 17th minute Marcelo Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Loyola in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Vila Mariana F.C.'s Raí Carvalho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Raí Carvalho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Vila Mariana F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Raí Carvalho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Cássio Valle shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Richard Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute Marcelo Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Marcelo Gaúcho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caire AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, Vila Mariana F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Adrianinho Paraense came free, but Richard Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vila Mariana F.C.'s Anísio Melo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Luiz Fabiano Borges in the 40 minute of the game. 40 minutes into the match, Caire AD's goal looked a bit too open when Dráusio de Senna came free, but Leopoldo Arantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Caire AD's zone, Fernão Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Arantes came out of the goal and Fernão Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Vila Mariana F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Loyola came free, but Richard Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caire AD's goalkeeper Leopoldo Arantes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcelo Gaúcho during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Gaúcho to strike the kick off in the second half. Caire AD's Leopoldo Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráusio de Senna in the 52nd minute of play. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Caire AD! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dráusio de Senna in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leopoldo Arantes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Dráusio de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Vila Mariana F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dráusio de Senna couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Caire AD getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. João Paulo Vides hit a great ball. Richard Botelho was a little too slow when Luizinho Loyola got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 3-2. After a defensive mix-up in Caire AD's zone, Fernão Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Arantes came out of the goal and Fernão Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernão Abraão's late challenge caught a Caire AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernão Abraão helped the player get up and apologised. Fernão Abraão hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 92 minutes into the match, Caire AD's Cássio Valle broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 95thth minute of the game Dráusio de Senna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caire AD's Leopoldo Arantes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luizinho Loyola succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-3 in the 98th playminute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
