If Délio Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Délio Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. João Augusto Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulisses Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, Tupancireta's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Seco came free, but Egídio Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Délio Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Délio Britto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of João Augusto Albuquerque, 1-1. If Sérgio Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37thth minute of the game Ulisses Dracena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tupancireta's Egídio Quintal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sérgio Seco took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egídio Quintal. Egídio Quintal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. João Augusto Albuquerque made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sydney Eger in the 45th minute. Ulisses Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sérgio Seco made a kick off. Ulisses Dracena received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Egídio Quintal came out and tried to block the shot, but Ulisses Dracena slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 51st minute. 58 minutes into the match, Sydney Eger notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Flamengo's João Augusto Albuquerque. João Augusto Albuquerque was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 63rd minute Sydney Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Augusto Albuquerque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Tupancireta's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Seco came free, but Egídio Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Ulisses Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulisses Dracena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egídio Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Augusto Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sydney Eger in the 70th minute of the match. Ulisses Dracena took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egídio Quintal. Egídio Quintal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. In the 81st minute, Enéas Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 94 minutes, Ulisses Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flamengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulisses Dracena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Flamengo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tupancireta throughout the match.
