When Valdemar Mineiro fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jupi's protests and gave Valdemar Mineiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Jupi got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Mineiro. Pablo-Enrique Guzman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Massa having to interfere. If Tomás Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomás Donato stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Felipe Loyola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morsing's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jupi the free kick. Tiago Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiago Soares got free with John van As in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wellington Fontes hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Giuseppe Massa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pablo-Enrique Guzman's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. 67 minutes into the game, Jupi's Pablo-Enrique Guzman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giuseppe Massa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Donatello Berger scored 3-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giuseppe Massa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ernani Fernandes's late challenge caught a Jupi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jupi's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Quaresma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giuseppe Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
