Palestra's Tiago Gabriel Souto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséias Simões in the 20th minute of play. If Tadeu Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Gabriel Souto came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Angico FC's Dedê Araújo. But to his dismay, Dedê Araújo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Barbosa in the 31st minute of play forced Angico FC's goalkeeper Hílton Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiago Gabriel Souto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséias Simões in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th match minute, Angico FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Araújo to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Angico FC's Raphael Azevedo in action when he in the 43rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Dedê Araújo made the kick off in the second half. When Nicolas Arósio fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palestra's protests and gave Nicolas Arósio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Nicolas Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dedê Araújo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 57th minute. Angico FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Oséias Simões might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiago Gabriel Souto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oséias Simões ran back to his position shaking his head. Dudu Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. If Dudu Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Tadeu Netto fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Hílton Antunes. The goalkeeper, Tiago Gabriel Souto, was totally fooled by Angico FC's Raphael Azevedo, who 70 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 76 minutes into the game, Daniel Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Angico FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Angico FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
