Antônio da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Luciano Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Florida SC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Enéas Marquez hit a great ball. In the 24th minute of the match Luiz Fernando Pires sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luciano Baptista skillfully saved the ball. Antônio da Mata's late challenge caught a Florida SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antônio da Mata helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, Antônio da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Florida SC's goalkeeper Luciano Baptista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cléberson de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Luizinho de Carvalho made the kick off in the second half. Fred Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. If Luiz Fernando Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th match minute, Ceara Minha Paixao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felippe Cruz to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Florida SC's Nelson Valladares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fred Pernambucano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Nelson Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute Nelson Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Florida SC's Douglas Veiga got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 74 played minutes, Ceara Minha Paixao's Luiz Fernando Pires shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luciano Baptista came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ceara Minha Paixao reached it. Cléberson de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Baptista having to interfere. Luizinho de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Fred Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 played minutes Ceara Minha Paixao got a freekick which was hit by Remo Barros. Fred Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizinho de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 90 minutes, Cléberson de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ceara Minha Paixao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléberson de Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luciano Baptista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antônio da Mata went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Florida SC's zone, Luiz Fernando Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luciano Baptista came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Ceara Minha Paixao players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
