In the 11th minute Enrique Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clemente Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Botelho in the 12th minute of play. Dagoberto Ferraz might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clemente Vieira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Ferraz ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Ferraz in the 14th minute of play forced Tapuia FC's goalkeeper Clemente Vieira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Galáticos FC's Toninho das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Torres in the 21st minute of play. In the 26thth minute of the game Dagoberto Ferraz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tapuia FC's Clemente Vieira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Enrique Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Galáticos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Botelho couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the match, Dagoberto Ferraz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clemente Vieira. Tapuia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dagoberto Ferraz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tapuia FC's goalkeeper Clemente Vieira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Clemente Vieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Proença in the 37th minute of the match. Tapuia FC's Clemente Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Ferraz in the 38th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dagoberto Ferraz in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clemente Vieira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute, Enrique Botelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dagoberto Ferraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Vieira having to interfere. Toninho das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Torres in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dagoberto Ferraz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 66 played minutes Tapuia FC got a freekick which was hit by João Vítor Cardozo. 67 minutes into the match, Ediberto Maranhense dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Clemente Vieira, 0-3. In the 71st minute, Galáticos FC's Dagoberto Ferraz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Tapuia FC's zone, Enrique Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Vieira came out of the goal and Enrique Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Dagoberto Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galáticos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dagoberto Ferraz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Douglas Bertassi got free with Clemente Vieira in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Proença got free with Clemente Vieira in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Dagoberto Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zacarias Soeiro took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Toninho das Neves. Toninho das Neves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Dagoberto Ferraz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Clemente Vieira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Galáticos FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
