The tension between the Goblins and the XV de Outubro players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Goblins getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Dino Oliveira hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Fellipe de Senna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wágner Fernandez was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Artur de Senna came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Goblins's Júlio Rosado. But to his dismay, Júlio Rosado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Armandinho Nascimento was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 21 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in XV de Outubro fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! The supporters of Goblins booed when XV de Outubro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazinho Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fellipe de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcinho Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur de Senna having to interfere. Artur de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Rosado in the 37th minute of play. In the 40th minute Mazinho Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Castro in the 45th minute of play forced XV de Outubro's goalkeeper Artur de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, XV de Outubro's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Castro came free, but Artur de Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Júlio Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur de Senna having to interfere. XV de Outubro's Artur de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcinho Mota in the 55th minute of play. Artur de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcinho Mota in the 57th minute of play. When Marcinho Mota came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Goblins fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Mota couldn't finish the play. A collision led to XV de Outubro getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Mazinho Loureiro hit a great ball. Fellipe de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wágner Fernandez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fellipe de Senna in the 72nd minute. Goblins's Wágner Fernandez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Goblins from getting a goal against them. Fellipe de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wágner Fernandez having to interfere. Júlio Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fellipe de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Wágner Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 minutes of play Goblins's Dino Oliveira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Dino Oliveira kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. When Danilo Cordeiro came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the XV de Outubro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danilo Cordeiro couldn't finish the play. XV de Outubro's Fellipe de Senna got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th match minute, Goblins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Rosado to maneuver through the defense. Fellipe de Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wágner Fernandez having to make a save. Teodoro da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Wágner Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. XV de Outubro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
