Paulo José Lara started the match with the kick off. After 5 played minutes Guaianazes SS got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Paraense. Evandro Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Carlos Eduardo Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guaianazes SS's Ramón Macedo got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Bonival's Vicente Vale got control of the ball when Gilvan Ramalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vicente Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivaldo Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. César da Silveira charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed César da Silveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bonival's César da Silveira got a free kick in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bonival's zone, Evandro Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Vale came out of the goal and Evandro Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute Evandro Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tião Baiano during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tião Baiano hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If Evandro Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Guaianazes SS's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo José Lara came free, but Narciso Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evandro Paraense to make the kick off. Gilvan Ramalho scored 1-0 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vicente Vale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bonival's Vicente Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Ramalho in the 62nd minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Gilvan Ramalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guaianazes SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilvan Ramalho in the 67th minute of play forced Bonival's goalkeeper Vicente Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evandro Paraense in the 88th minute of the match. Francisco Trigo's late challenge caught a Guaianazes SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Trigo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bonival's Francisco Trigo got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 95th minute, Evandro Paraense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 98 minutes into the match, Bonival's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Ramalho came free, but Vicente Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
