Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Fernandão Magalhães kicked off to start the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isaltino Cabral in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Perivaldo Pires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th minute, Durval Carneiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Grimeia AD's Evaristo de Godoi threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Durval Carneiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Germano Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Perivaldo Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaltino Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Perivaldo Pires didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernandão Magalhães went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 30th minute Narciso Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perivaldo Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Fernandão Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xavantina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandão Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute Fernandão Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perivaldo Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaltino Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Perivaldo Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Grimeia AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Couto to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute of the match Donato Aguiar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Perivaldo Pires showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Germano Couto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grimeia AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Xavantina the free kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Amaral made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel Amaral in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evaristo de Godoi saved Xavantina from getting behind. Perivaldo Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandão Magalhães in the 59th minute of the match. Samuel Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute Washington de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute, Isaac Lanfranco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute Fernandão Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perivaldo Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Perivaldo Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Evaristo de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Carneiro in the 76th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Grimeia AD got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Guilherme Coutinho. Xavantina's Fernandão Magalhães got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Washington de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo de Godoi having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Xavantina's Gerson Dantas got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Grimeia AD had won after a very even match.
