Hílton Barbosa charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hílton Barbosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Hílton Barbosa hit a great ball. Jarbas Zanette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodosio Prejun in the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihail Tudoran in the 11th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper Jarbas Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 12 played minutes Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Lauro Mandrak. Teodosio Prejun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Zanette having to interfere. Teodosio Prejun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mihail Tudoran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Flamengo booed when Buicu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodosio Prejun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Buicu's Michel Hames proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Buicu from getting a goal against them. If Mihail Tudoran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michel Hames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodosio Prejun to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodosio Prejun got free with Jarbas Zanette in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Mihail Tudoran came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Buicu fans jumped to their feet. In the 59th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hílton Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 66 minutes, Mihail Tudoran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buicu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihail Tudoran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the game, Buicu's Teodosio Prejun nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jarbas Zanette made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 74 minutes of play, Buicu's Teodosio Prejun made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jarbas Zanette was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jarbas Zanette made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Teodosio Prejun sent off a good shot on target. Teodosio Prejun scored 0-3 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarbas Zanette, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Teodosio Prejun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the game, Mihail Tudoran recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jarbas Zanette. Mihail Tudoran showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Buicu played a much better game than Flamengo and deserved their victory. The Flamengo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
