Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) Gurgel's Felipe Gaúcho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Serafim Mineiro made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Sérgio da Rocha sent off a good shot on target. Tião Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tijuco! Nuno Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafim Mineiro having to interfere. The supporters of Gurgel booed when Tijuco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Sérgio da Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diamantino Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Tião Palmeira rounded Gurgel's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Agnaldo Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Tião Palmeira made the kick off in the second half. Serafim Mineiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Gernando da Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After having played for 57 minutes, Sérgio da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tijuco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sérgio da Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gurgel's zone, Sérgio da Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serafim Mineiro came out of the goal and Sérgio da Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 74th minute, Marquinhos Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrézinho Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Gaúcho in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th match minute, Tijuco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Neto to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Diamantino Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gurgel's supporters rose to their feet, but Diamantino Meireles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrézinho Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diamantino Meireles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sérgio da Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Tijuco walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
