Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gil Netto took the kick off in the first half of the match. Havai's Aílton Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Terra in the 7th minute of play. When Gil Netto came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Havai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gil Netto couldn't finish the play. In the 12th minute, Wiliam da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute, Luiz Barbosa made a precise shot to the right of Glauco Mazza. Piabas SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Luiz Barbosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The corner ended in Vítor Arósio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Havai's Aílton Meireles did a great save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Terra to make the kick off. Gil Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Glauco Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Emílio Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 59 minutes, David Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piabas SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Havai's Ricardinho Sabóia got a free kick in the 61st minute. Emílio Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Piabas SC booed when Havai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tales Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Rubens Catarinense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Havai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piabas SC the free kick. After 69 played minutes Havai got a freekick which was hit by Rubens Catarinense. After 70 played minutes, Piabas SC's Vítor Arósio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aílton Meireles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Piabas SC reached it. In the 71st minute, David Terra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piabas SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emílio Oliveira in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aílton Meireles saved Havai from getting behind. In the 77th minute, Gil Netto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Barbosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Glauco Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Barbosa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 83rd minute Emílio Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aílton Meireles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Havai defense, David Terra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aílton Meireles. The Havai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aílton Meireles should have stopped the shot. Aílton Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Oliveira in the 89th minute of play. Glauco Mazza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Barbosa in the 94th minute. Havai's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
