Spectators: 6781 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 100) After 5 played minutes Trindade got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Ferreira. Marcelo Teles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 9 minutes, Joélson Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gato's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joélson Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luciano Eger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hamílton de Barros in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Joaquim Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gato's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trindade the free kick. Joaquim Medeiros hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Gato's Luciano Eger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Gato from getting a goal against them. Joélson Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Valadares having to interfere. Rubinho de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Gugu Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Walmyr Dracena came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Trindade fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmyr Dracena couldn't finish the play. Luciano Eger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hamílton de Barros in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Dracena in the 45th minute of play forced Gato's goalkeeper Luciano Eger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joélson Macedo to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Trindade's Hamílton de Barros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luciano Eger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luciano Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Dracena in the 52nd minute of the match. Gugu Oliveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Cristóvão Valadares made a huge save. Gato's Luciano Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Dracena in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute Trindade were awarded a corner. Hamílton de Barros went to the cornerflag to take it. Hamílton de Barros made a great header on Trindade's corner, it was just that Gato's Luciano Eger managed to reach the ball for a save. Zé Augusto Valladares hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Luciano Eger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamílton de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luciano Eger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Luciano Eger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hamílton de Barros's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Hamílton de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Luciano Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 76 played minutes Trindade got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Botelho. If Hamílton de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Trindade's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gugu Oliveira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 91 minutes into the match, Gato's goal looked a bit too open when Hamílton de Barros came free, but Luciano Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hamílton de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Trindade fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hamílton de Barros couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Gato booed when Trindade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Despite being the better team, Trindade failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
