Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Amílton das Neves kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Benevenuto's goal looked a bit too open when Amílton das Neves came free, but Humberto Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amílton das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Humberto Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 played minutes Guto Cearense shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Benevenuto's Humberto Arce to catch but Guto Cearense was lucky. It became 1-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Monte's Manoel Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Teles in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Ediberto Chaves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monte fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Diogo Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Gaúcho having to interfere. Manoel Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho de Mendonça in the 31st minute of the match. Manoel Gaúcho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luizinho de Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Luizinho de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Gaúcho having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Amílton das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílton das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Luizinho de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Gaúcho having to interfere. If Amílton das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Benevenuto getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Marcus Dante hit a great ball. Ediberto Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes Monte got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Queirós. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Benevenuto:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Monte:s goal. Guto Cearense walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The supporters of Monte booed when Benevenuto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenílson Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Humberto Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ediberto Chaves in the 88th minute of play. When Monte's Ediberto Chaves in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Benevenuto's goalie prevented a goal. Humberto Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ediberto Chaves in the 92nd minute of play. When Hélio Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monte's protests and gave Hélio Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd match minute, Monte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélio Queirós to maneuver through the defense. Tales Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 100 minutes into the game, Diogo Teles recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manoel Gaúcho. Diogo Teles showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Monte's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
