Vladimir Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antônio Mangueira came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Campinense FC's Júlio Pinheiro. But to his dismay, Júlio Pinheiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After some careless play in the Pontezinha defense, Júlio Pinheiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antônio Mangueira. The Pontezinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antônio Mangueira should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Pontezinha's Manfredo Braga got a free kick in the 15th minute. When Diego Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pontezinha's protests and gave Diego Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pontezinha getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Manfredo Braga hit a great ball. If Antônio Carlos Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelinho Albuquerque was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 32nd match minute, Campinense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Carlos Reis to maneuver through the defense. Campinense FC's Norberto Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vladimir Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfredo Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Edson Ortiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Antônio Carlos Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antônio Mangueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antônio Carlos Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. If Norberto Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fábio Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimir Vides having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Fábio Massa made a kick off. Campinense FC's Vladimir Vides proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Campinense FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Campinense FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Edson Ortiz hit a great ball. Júlio Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Mangueira having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pontezinha's zone, Norberto Schmidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Mangueira came out of the goal and Norberto Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júlio Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Antônio Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Antônio Carlos Reis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antônio Mangueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 72nd minute, Norberto Schmidt made a precise shot to the right of Antônio Mangueira. Pontezinha's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Júlio Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Mangueira having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Reis struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Antônio Mangueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campinense FC. Vladimir Vides didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sabino Mangueira went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Júlio Pinheiro scored 5-1 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antônio Mangueira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Campinense FC had played much better football throughout.
