Dino dos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Pinheiro in the 37th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Corinthians Fielzão Tupã fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Júlio Pinheiro walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Adalmo Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Corinthians Fielzão Tupã players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Campinense FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cássio Loyola was the one to do the kick off. 61 minutes into the match, Corinthians Fielzão Tupã's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Sousa came free, but Dino dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Jairo Alves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians Fielzão Tupã's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Campinense FC the free kick. Dino dos Santos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Antônio Carlos Reis came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Campinense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antônio Carlos Reis couldn't finish the play. Campinense FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
