The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Andrézinho Teixeira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Avai Floripa protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Andrézinho Teixeira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Avai Floripa fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! In the 28th minute there was a penalty for Ruilandia. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cauan Fernandez to strike the kick off in the second half. Hamílton Vides might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisão Ramalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamílton Vides ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Augusto Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Luisão Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Augusto Alvarenga in the 93rd minute of the match. Avai Floripa were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
