Ponte Preta do Matão's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coroa EC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ponte Preta do Matão's Ronaldo do Valle got a free kick in the 13th minute. Coroa EC's Valdo Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Coroa EC from getting a goal against them. Ponte Preta do Matão's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
