Dedê Figueiredo came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexsandro Souza was extremely unlucky when he, in the 21st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Dionísio during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Pedro Luiz Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 31 minutes of play Jiquiri's Júlio Dionísio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Júlio Dionísio hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Pedro Luiz Mota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexsandro Souza struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Dedê Figueiredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catarinense Futebol Clube. The Jiquiri fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dedê Figueiredo should have stopped the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Catarinense Futebol Clube had played much better football throughout.
