The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Saycan EC's Cauan Nóbrega proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Saycan EC from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute, Deivid Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dalmo Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Borges in the 20th minute of play. Agostinho Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Dalmo Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manoel Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Contagem E.C defense, Manoel Moreno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dalmo Mineiro. The Contagem E.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dalmo Mineiro should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Contagem E.C getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Dráusio Sergipano hit a great ball. César Cosme took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dalmo Mineiro. Contagem E.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cauan Nóbrega didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nildo Bertassi went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Nildo Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauan Nóbrega having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Agostinho Borges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dalmo Mineiro came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Saycan EC's Manoel Moreno. But to his dismay, Manoel Moreno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Saycan EC's Cauan Nóbrega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marquinhos Negri in the 58th minute of play. Nildo Bertassi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cauan Nóbrega read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Cauan Nóbrega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nildo Bertassi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabiano Vergílio's late challenge caught a Contagem E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabiano Vergílio helped the player get up and apologised. Saycan EC's Manoel Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Borges in the 71st minute of play forced Contagem E.C's goalkeeper Dalmo Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Contagem E.C getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jonas Veiga hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Contagem E.C's zone, Manoel Moreno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dalmo Mineiro came out of the goal and Manoel Moreno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marquinhos Negri in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cauan Nóbrega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nildo Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauan Nóbrega having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Hamílton Abreu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dalmo Mineiro. The goal made the score 1-3. Dráusio Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
