Agostinho Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doriva Azevedo in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5thth minute of the game Doriva Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Medivale FC's Agostinho Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Medivale FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Nando Carioca hit a great ball. Délio Silveira, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Doriva Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Agostinho Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17thth minute of the game Wanderson Ramos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Medivale FC's Agostinho Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Guga Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 0-1 became the score in the 21st minute when Doriva Azevedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Diamantino Sampaio took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruninho Melo. Bruninho Melo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Agostinho Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wanderson Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Medivale FC's goalkeeper Agostinho Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Claudinho Arce's late challenge caught a Carpina AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinho Arce helped the player get up and apologised. Claudinho Arce hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Wanderson Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wanderson Ramos took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agostinho Tavares. Agostinho Tavares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The audience was convinced that Wanderson Ramos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Agostinho Tavares was relentless in the 49th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guga Arantes to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Medivale FC's Agostinho Tavares got control of the ball when Doriva Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Ramos in the 65th minute of play forced Medivale FC's goalkeeper Agostinho Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agostinho Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wanderson Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Guga Arantes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Carpina AD's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Sampaio came free, but Bruninho Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wanderson Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Doriva Azevedos short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Agostinho Tavares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 78 minutes into the match, Medivale FC's goalkeeper Agostinho Tavares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doriva Azevedo. After 82 minutes, Diamantino Sampaio made it 2-4 with a short kick to the right side. Carpina AD's Bruninho Melo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Carpina AD's Doriva Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Doriva Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Agostinho Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carpina AD. A collision led to Medivale FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Claudinho Arce hit a great ball. If Doriva Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carpina AD's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
