Fred de Alcântara came out of the goal and Edson Tróia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Alexandre Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fred de Alcântara was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Dinei Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Fred de Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexandre Branco in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fred de Alcântara saved Norwich City FC from getting behind. Fred de Alcântara came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Galante FC's Alexandre Branco. But to his dismay, Alexandre Branco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexandre Branco was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Norwich City FC's goalkeeper Fred de Alcântara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriano Arantes. After having played for 55 minutes, Diamantino Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Norwich City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diamantino Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexandre Branco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Fred de Alcântara when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Dinei Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galante FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dinei Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60thth minute of the game Alexandre Branco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Norwich City FC's Fred de Alcântara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fred de Alcântara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandre Branco's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. The supporters of Norwich City FC booed when Galante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fred de Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Arantes in the 73rd minute of play. Norwich City FC's Fred de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Branco in the 75th minute of play. Anselmo Melo hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Fred de Alcântara was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Alexandre Branco capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alexandre Branco really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. 91 minutes into the match, Galante FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Melo came free, but Zé Pedro Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Galante FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Norwich City FC.
