Júlio Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Almeida having to interfere. Baraunas SS's Edgar Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clóvis Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernão de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulisses Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Clóvis Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Real Madrid's Eurico Almeida got control of the ball when Edgar Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Edgar Duarte came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Baraunas SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Duarte couldn't finish the play. Carlos Alberto Gaúcho hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Edgar Duarte who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Eurico Almeida when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Denis Laurentzi hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ulisses Cosme hit a great ball. Clóvis Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugênio Viana in the 42nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Gaúcho in the 43rd minute of play forced Baraunas SS's goalkeeper Clóvis Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eurico Almeida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgar Duarte's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. A hard shot 48 in the game by Edgar Duarte from a close distance when the talented Eurico Almeida managed to make a qualified save. Real Madrid's players were relieved.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgar Duarte stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Alberto Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Edgar Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baraunas SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Duarte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eurico Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Fernão de Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Baraunas SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernão de Azevedo couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Real Madrid defense, Edgar Duarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eurico Almeida. The Real Madrid fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eurico Almeida should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Ulisses Cosme took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Clóvis Bertassi to make any attempt to save it. Baraunas SS's Edgar Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Célio Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eurico Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Duarte in the 78th minute of the match. Eurico Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernão de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgar Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 82 minutes into the match, Real Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Duarte came free, but Eurico Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 89 minutes, Edgar Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baraunas SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Duarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denis Laurentzi struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Eurico Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baraunas SS. Real Madrid's Eurico Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Duarte in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute Pedro Augusto Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eurico Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Real Madrid succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Baraunas SS had controlled the match.
