Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dráuzio Botelho got the match started through his kick off. VASSOURENSE's Armando Coelho got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wágner Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráuzio Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Renato Zanette notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of VASSOURENSE's Wágner Trigo. Wágner Trigo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Enéas Siqueira kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. With a little luck, Queijo Minas's Célio da Mata got control of the ball when Vânderson Ribeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vânderson Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Célio da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Armando Coelho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Célio da Mata, 1-1. Vânderson Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio da Mata having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Coelho in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio da Mata saved Queijo Minas from getting behind. With a little luck, Queijo Minas's Célio da Mata got control of the ball when Vânderson Ribeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 35 minutes, Serginho Gaspar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Queijo Minas and the VASSOURENSE players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Queijo Minas booed when VASSOURENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, VASSOURENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Zanette came free, but Wágner Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, VASSOURENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandrinho Abraão to maneuver through the defense. Renato Zanette's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wágner Trigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Armando Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 54th minute, Lúcio Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the match, Queijo Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Coelho came free, but Célio da Mata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Célio da Mata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vânderson Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Célio da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vânderson Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Coelho in the 66th minute of play forced Queijo Minas's goalkeeper Célio da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Célio da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Ribeiro in the 70th minute of play forced Queijo Minas's goalkeeper Célio da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The VASSOURENSE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. If Armando Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the VASSOURENSE players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
