Paulista FC's José Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Cordeiro in the 18th minute of play. Cristian Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Christian Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Machado took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christian Sabóia. Antônio Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Antônio Cordeiro came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Geral fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antônio Cordeiro couldn't finish the play. Christian Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovani Prado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Giovani Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paulista FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovani Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Sabóia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adelino Arce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ismael Vander kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Geral's Benê Alvarenga got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, Antônio Cordeiro notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Paulista FC's José Maranhense. José Maranhense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 64th minute of the match, Antônio Cordeiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but José Maranhense was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 66th minute Adelino Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Paulista FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Antônio Cordeiro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Antônio Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Geral booed when Paulista FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antônio Cordeiro struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. José Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Geral. Antônio Cordeiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Maranhense having to make a save. José Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Arce in the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 81 minutes, Antônio Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geral's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antônio Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benê Alvarenga hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Adelino Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Arce in the 91st minute of the match. Antônio Cordeiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Maranhense having to make a save. The Paulista FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Geral were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
