Gilson Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Nunes having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in CuckFC's zone, Gilson Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Nunes came out of the goal and Gilson Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Magalhães in the 28th minute of play forced Miraselva's goalkeeper Waldir Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Fernando de Queirós's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jairo Nunes was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. 34 minutes into the game, Nelson de Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gilson Botelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Nunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Fernando de Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Jairo Nunes made a huge save. Álvaro Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
