Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when César Ceresso kicked off to start the match. The audience was convinced that César Ceresso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Orlando Mumbach was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Palestra's Orlando Mumbach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Ceresso in the 21st minute of play. Bruno Faria made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fausto Souza in the 24th minute. Paulo Renato Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Orlando Mumbach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Guedes in the 28th minute of the match. Gernando Faria charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gernando Faria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gernando Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. The supporters of Palestra booed when Placas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palestra's Ademir Ortiz got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ademir Ortiz made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Ademir Ortiz notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Placas's Bruno Faria. Bruno Faria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ademir Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. César Ceresso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orlando Mumbach read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Palestra's goal looked a bit too open when César Ceresso came free, but Orlando Mumbach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When César Ceresso came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Placas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Ceresso couldn't finish the play. Andrézinho Batista hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 77 played minutes, Palestra's Paulo Renato Azevedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bruno Faria came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palestra reached it. In the 79th minute, Charles Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Faria came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra's Ademir Ortiz. But to his dismay, Ademir Ortiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling César Ceresso in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Mumbach prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Orlando Mumbach didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 85th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1.
