Sandrinho da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Terra in the 7th minute of the match. When Cerrito SS's Manuel Vale in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clube Atlético Puma's goalie prevented a goal. Duda Munhoz hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. The supporters of Cerrito SS booed when Clube Atlético Puma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duda Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Augusto Faria, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sandrinho da Mata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Vale's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. When Cerrito SS's Manuel Vale in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clube Atlético Puma's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Atlético Puma's zone, Gino Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandrinho da Mata came out of the goal and Gino Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manuel Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Cerrito SS's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Toledo came free, but Luís Guilherme Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gino Terra in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandrinho da Mata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 33 minutes of play, Cerrito SS's Manuel Vale made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sandrinho da Mata was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gino Terra struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Sandrinho da Mata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cerrito SS. Gino Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandrinho da Mata having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Álvaro Toledo to make the kick off. Gino Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Manuel Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cerrito SS's Zé Augusto Faria shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 65th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sandrinho da Mata but with some difficulty. Manuel Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70thth minute of the game Gino Terra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube Atlético Puma's Sandrinho da Mata was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erasmo Galvão's late challenge caught a Cerrito SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erasmo Galvão helped the player get up and apologised. In the 71st match minute, Clube Atlético Puma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Galvão to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, Cerrito SS's Manuel Vale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sandrinho da Mata narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cerrito SS's Gino Terra got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gino Terra in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sandrinho da Mata saved Clube Atlético Puma from getting behind. In the 79thth minute of the game Gino Terra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube Atlético Puma's Sandrinho da Mata was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 81st minute, Duda Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gino Terra in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sandrinho da Mata saved Clube Atlético Puma from getting behind. If Manuel Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes in the game, Gino Terra fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sandrinho da Mata having to interfere. With a little luck, Clube Atlético Puma's Sandrinho da Mata got control of the ball when Manuel Vale tried to sneak it across the goal line. Erasmo Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Cerrito SS played a much better game than Clube Atlético Puma and deserved their victory. The Clube Atlético Puma players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
