Sabino Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Daniel Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Zacarias Gaúcho hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Sérgio Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Passaxunga's supporters rose to their feet, but Sérgio Quadros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agostinho Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Muller's Falcão Leão got a free kick in the 55th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vicente Valle in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Agostinho Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Agostinho Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Macedo in the 60th minute of play. Sabino Recife blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daniel Varela having to make a save. Sabino Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sabino Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
