Daniel Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Sanches having to interfere. Felipe Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Alvarenga having to interfere. Jefferson Pombal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeu Sanches read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Romeu Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Lopez in the 17th minute of the match. Felipe Penha hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Jefferson Pombal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S. E. Palestra fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Chorona EC's Yan Paraibano got a free kick in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Jefferson Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. S. E. Palestra's supporters rose to their feet, but Jefferson Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeu Sanches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 48 minutes into the match, Daniel Lopez notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Chorona EC's Romeu Sanches. Romeu Sanches was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jefferson Pombal was the one to do the kick off. Joaquim Alvarenga came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Chorona EC's Yan Paraibano. But to his dismay, Yan Paraibano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Yan Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Joaquim Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan Paraibano in the 68th minute of play forced S. E. Palestra's goalkeeper Joaquim Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genílson Romero was extremely unlucky when he, in the 71st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdemar Soares during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th match minute, S. E. Palestra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Soares to maneuver through the defense. When Angelo Varela came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Chorona EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelo Varela couldn't finish the play. Angelo Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Romeu Sanches was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jefferson Pombal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 85 minute of play. After 98 played minutes S. E. Palestra got a freekick which was hit by José Augusto Pinheiro. Chorona EC's Angelo Varela got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
