After a rather tough play, Catita SC's Benjamin Rossi got a free kick in the 2nd minute. When Catita SC's Sidnei de Mendonça in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye COMETA™'s goalie prevented a goal. Catita SC's Thomás Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Arósio in the 8th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Catita SC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Dantas came free, but Thomás Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rony Leite hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute Clóvis Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clóvis Chaves charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clóvis Chaves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute, Clóvis Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sidnei de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Barreto having to interfere. Jerônimo Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Couto in the 25th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Sidnei de Mendonça dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jerônimo Barreto, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Couto in the 36th minute of play forced COMETA™'s goalkeeper Jerônimo Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adalmo Cabral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Jerônimo Barreto made a huge save. When Nuno Favoretto fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored COMETA™'s protests and gave Nuno Favoretto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd match minute, COMETA™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. Paulinho Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Barreto having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sidnei de Mendonça made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Sidnei de Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerônimo Barreto was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sidnei de Mendonça in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerônimo Barreto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arnaldo Dantas came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Thomás Paraense could save by the left post. 61 minutes into the match, COMETA™'s goal looked a bit too open when Paulinho Brodel came free, but Jerônimo Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adalmo Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After having played for 65 minutes, Clóvis Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. COMETA™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Clóvis Chaves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 69 played minutes Catita SC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Varela. In the 72nd minute, Clóvis Chaves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidnei de Mendonça in the 74th minute of play forced COMETA™'s goalkeeper Jerônimo Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sidnei de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jerônimo Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Favoretto hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Jerônimo Barreto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sidnei de Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind COMETA™'s goalkeeper Jerônimo Barreto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Catita SC's Adalmo Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 89 played minutes COMETA™ got a freekick which was hit by Cleiton Pirani. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Sidnei de Mendonça sped through COMETA™'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jerônimo Barreto. If Sidnei de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Catita SC were the better team. Catita SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
