Ulysses Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Albertinho Pombal succeeded in the game's 7th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Retirinho SC's Reynaldo Kelemen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dênis Arantes in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC INTERNACIONAL!!'s Dênis do Valle got a free kick in the 23rd minute. When Retirinho SC's Albertinho Pombal in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Albertinho Pombal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dino Motta was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Dino Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilmar Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, João Adolfo Salgado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reynaldo Kelemen. Retirinho SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Adolfo Salgado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Retirinho SC's Albertinho Pombal in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC INTERNACIONAL!!'s goalie prevented a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

52 minutes into the game, Retirinho SC's Albertinho Pombal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dino Motta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Dino Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertinho Pombal in the 55th minute of play. Albertinho Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Motta having to interfere. After having played for 59 minutes, Ulysses Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Retirinho SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulysses Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Leão in the 61st minute of play forced SC INTERNACIONAL!!'s goalkeeper Dino Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the game, João Adolfo Salgado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC INTERNACIONAL!!'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Retirinho SC the free kick. João Adolfo Salgado hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. A collision led to Retirinho SC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Afonsinho Teles hit a great ball. In the 68th minute, Gugu Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reynaldo Kelemen was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Júlio Eger. 75 minutes into the match, Retirinho SC's Ulysses Leão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dino Motta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 78th minute Ulysses Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dino Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertinho Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Retirinho SC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
