In the 20th minute Duarte Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Barsemlona's Dida Félix got a free kick in the 30th minute. Fernandinho Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manfredo Toledo having to make a save. Fernando Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Rui Pereira threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Barsemlona's Dé Torres quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 40 minutes into the match, Sobrai AD's goal looked a bit too open when Dé Torres came free, but Manfredo Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dé Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manfredo Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Hudson Linhares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Remo da Cunha made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgar Vinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Vinhas during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th minute, Dé Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lauro Damião might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manfredo Toledo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lauro Damião ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 72nd minute, Hugo Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdemar Pires took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Remo da Cunha. FC Barsemlona's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Edgar Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, FC Barsemlona's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Carioca came free, but Remo da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Saraiva struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Manfredo Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Barsemlona. 84 minutes into the match, Sobrai AD's goalkeeper Manfredo Toledo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tião de Queiroz. Remo da Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hudson Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Remo da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hudson Linhares in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Francisco Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Remo da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wágner de Toledo in the 95th minute of the match. Sobrai AD's Manfredo Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lauro Damião in the 98th minute of play. The Sobrai AD players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
