Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Raí Fonseca kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute, one of Itaporanga:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Itaporanga. Jailson Mattos hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Guloso AD's Carlinhos Magalhães got a free kick in the 16th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Itaporanga's Tony da Fonseca tried to score from far away in the 16th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amauri Dante in the 18th minute of play forced Guloso AD's goalkeeper Virgílio Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Maria Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gilson Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilson Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raí Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 played minutes Guloso AD got a freekick which was hit by Raí Fonseca. Virgílio Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amauri Dante in the 32nd minute of the match. 36 minutes in the game, Raí Fonseca fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gilson Arruda having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria Cerezo got free with Gilson Arruda in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

A collision led to Guloso AD getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. José Carlos Barbosa hit a great ball. In the 54thth minute of the game José Maria Cerezo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itaporanga's Gilson Arruda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gugu de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Virgílio Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jailson Mattos charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jailson Mattos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Guloso AD's zone, Evaristo da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgílio Cearense came out of the goal and Evaristo da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 71 minutes of play Guloso AD's Jailson Mattos was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Guloso AD getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jailson Mattos hit a great ball. Virgílio Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. If José Maria Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Maria Cerezo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilson Arruda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. The Guloso AD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Itaporanga had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
