The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Maria Cerezos short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Bernardo Simão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Maria Cerezo made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Váldson Sarmento during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
