Malhadas EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Geroky the free kick. Dedê da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rdth minute of the game Dedê da Costa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malhadas EC's Dida Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê da Costa in the 35th minute of play forced Malhadas EC's goalkeeper Dida Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dida Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê da Costa in the 36th minute of the match. Cláudio de Barros got his second yellow card in the match during the 38th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Geroky's Natanael Ceresso couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 40th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Malhadas EC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Rodolfo França came out of the goal and Luís Fabiano Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodolfo França didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeferson Valladares went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Malhadas EC's zone, Dedê da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dida Toledo came out of the goal and Dedê da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dedê da Costa in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dida Toledo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Geroky's Dedê da Costa in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Malhadas EC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Dedê da Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Toledo was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Dedê da Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Dida Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê da Costa in the 88th minute of the match.
