Atlético Komatsu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tavares SC the free kick. In the 3rd match minute, Atlético Komatsu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agenor Matos to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Atlético Komatsu's Hugo Carvalho got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 7th of the match, Marquinhos da Costa tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Juan Ferraz got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 8th minute, Ademir Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Ferraz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 11th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Rony Lopez hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The attack was good, but when Marquinhos da Costa in the 19th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Atlético Komatsu's Juan Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Komatsu from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso do Nascimento in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Ferraz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 36 minutes into the match, Atlético Komatsu's goalkeeper Juan Ferraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afonso do Nascimento. In the 39th match minute, Atlético Komatsu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rony Lopez to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Eliézer Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso do Nascimento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juan Ferraz having to make a save. 62 minutes into the game, Tavares SC's Afonso do Nascimento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juan Ferraz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 67th minute Afonso do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marquinhos da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Juan Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rony Lopez might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliézer Melo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rony Lopez ran back to his position shaking his head. Afonso do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Ferraz having to interfere. After 76 minutes, Ademir Diniz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tavares SC and the Atlético Komatsu players grew even worse after the yellow card. João Pedro Catarinense hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Afonso do Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tavares SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso do Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan Ferraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 95 minutes into the match, Tavares SC's Afonso do Nascimento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Ferraz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tavares SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Atlético Komatsu had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
