The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrick Coutinho during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, Ibiaci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víktor Pinho to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th match minute Dedê Vianna ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Sérgio Dante. 1-1. Sérgio Dante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 37th minute Alfredão Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nestor Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Leal in the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Botelho in the 41st minute of play forced Para AD's goalkeeper Nestor Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredão Pontes to strike the kick off in the second half. When Armando Leal came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Ibiaci fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Leal couldn't finish the play. Zézinho de Azevedo's late challenge caught a Para AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zézinho de Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th match minute, Ibiaci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zézinho de Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Para AD's Patrick Coutinho got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Nestor Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Leal in the 64th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Víktor Pinho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nestor Faria. Víktor Pinho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. In the 77th minute, Armando Leal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nestor Faria. The goal made the score 2-3. If Jacinto Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Para AD defense, Jacinto Domingues kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Faria. The Para AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Faria should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Ibiaci's Jacinto Domingues slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nestor Faria. That made the score 2-5 after 93 minutes of play. If Armando Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
