After 26 minutes of play, CHAPECOENSE's Andrézinho Maranhense made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristóvão Borges was left in no man's land by his defense there! André Tasso hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Nestor Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Faisca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nestor Fantini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vinícius Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséias Ramalho in the 36th minute of play. Andrézinho Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Borges having to interfere. Cristóvão Borges stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrézinho Maranhense's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Christiano Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Salgado was the one to do the kick off.
