In the 3rd minute of the match Adhemar Vinhas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celsinho Faustino skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Corujas AD defense, Jonas Vargas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celsinho Faustino. The Corujas AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celsinho Faustino should have stopped the shot. After having played for 7 minutes, Flávio Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosmonautas Paulistas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flávio Arantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celsinho Faustino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute Jonas Vargas suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 11 minutes into the game, Chiquinho Mendes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corujas AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cosmonautas Paulistas the free kick. Cosmonautas Paulistas made a substitution. Dinei Viana replaced Jonas Vargas. Chiquinho Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Flávio Arantes struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Celsinho Faustino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cosmonautas Paulistas. Corujas AD's Celsinho Faustino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Loureiro in the 20th minute of play. Celsinho Faustino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Cosmonautas Paulistas's Flávio Arantes suffered a concussion after 21 minutes and had to leave the field. Luiz Fábio Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Fábio Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Corujas AD getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Luiz Fábio Fonseca hit a great ball. Felipe Loureiro was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Edmílson Cordeiro in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Cosmonautas Paulistas's Breno Valladares. Corujas AD's Celsinho Faustino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Linhares in the 29th minute of play. Celsinho Faustino came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Cosmonautas Paulistas's Luciano Linhares. But to his dismay, Luciano Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Linhares in the 32nd minute of play forced Corujas AD's goalkeeper Celsinho Faustino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 36 minutes, Luciano Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosmonautas Paulistas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luciano Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Fred Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cosmonautas Paulistas's Dinei Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Celsinho Faustino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipe Loureiro to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Luciano Linhares could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Celsinho Faustino however easily saved by the left post. In the 58th minute, Cosmonautas Paulistas's Felipe Loureiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. With a little luck, Corujas AD's Celsinho Faustino got control of the ball when Luciano Linhares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felipe Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Faustino having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Linhares got free with Celsinho Faustino in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Corujas AD booed when Cosmonautas Paulistas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celsinho Faustino made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Dinei Viana sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Loureiro in the 80th minute of play forced Corujas AD's goalkeeper Celsinho Faustino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Luciano Linhares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celsinho Faustino. Corujas AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luciano Linhares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. If Luciano Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Felipe Loureiro took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Celsinho Faustino to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Felipe Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cosmonautas Paulistas's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Loureiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celsinho Faustino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cosmonautas Paulistas played a much better game than Corujas AD and deserved their victory. The Corujas AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
