The audience was convinced that Paulo José Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geovani Braga was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Décio Nogueira during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 played minutes Nicolandia got a freekick which was hit by Décio Nogueira. If Laércio Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 minutes, Nelson Fontes made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. Corimbata's Percival Pinheiro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
