The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Iker Benvide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júnior Mello took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuca Cosme. Samuca Cosme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Aílton Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iker Benvide, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Caturiaro EC booed when Inveia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júnior Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuca Cosme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Conrado de Lima went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Linhares got free with Aílton Velasco in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Washington Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Caturiaro EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Washington Quadros couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute, Andrézinho Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júnior Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Conrado de Lima scored 1-3 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Samuca Cosme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 39th minute, Iker Benvide got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aílton Velasco came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Caturiaro EC's Washington Quadros. But to his dismay, Washington Quadros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Samuca Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado de Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inveia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Inácio Bastos in the 49th minute. After taking down the ball on Inveia's corner Inácio Bastos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Samuca Cosme quite easily take care of the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iker Benvide stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Inveia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. Kléberson Vieira was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 61 minutes into the match. Inácio Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caturiaro EC's Iker Benvide got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Caturiaro EC booed when Inveia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júnior Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Ricardo Linhares notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Inveia's Aílton Velasco. Aílton Velasco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Giovanni Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inveia's protests and gave Giovanni Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Giovanni Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Iker Benvide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dadá Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Aílton Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Andrézinho Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute, Washington Quadros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aílton Velasco was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. Aílton Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iker Benvide, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Marcelo Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caturiaro EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aílton Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Iker Benvide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Inveia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquinho Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Aílton Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iker Benvide's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. After a rather tough play, Inveia's Júnior Mello got a free kick in the 95th minute.
