The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Kléberson Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute Iker Benvide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iker Benvide fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Teles having to interfere. If Ricardo Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 1-0 became the score in the 14th minute when Iker Benvide elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 18th match minute, Caturiaro EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Vieira to maneuver through the defense. Samuca Cosme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelo de Barros's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, F C IGREJINHA's Fernandinho Cabral got a free kick in the 21st minute. Waldir Quadros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Samuca Cosme having to make a save. Dadá Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Caturiaro EC's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Quadros came free, but Samuca Cosme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuca Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo de Barros in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Washington Quadros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in F C IGREJINHA's zone, Washington Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rômulo Teles came out of the goal and Washington Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Waldir Quadros to make the kick off. After 56 played minutes Caturiaro EC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Linhares. Caturiaro EC's Samuca Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldir Quadros in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Caturiaro EC booed when F C IGREJINHA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaltino Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes in the game Fernandinho Cabral did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Eriberto Alves. Marcelo de Barros received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Samuca Cosme came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcelo de Barros slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 63rd minute. In the 65th match minute, Caturiaro EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Linhares to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldir Quadros in the 69th minute of play forced Caturiaro EC's goalkeeper Samuca Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iker Benvide in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rômulo Teles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nestor de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Ricardo Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Teles having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iker Benvide in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rômulo Teles saved F C IGREJINHA from getting behind. F C IGREJINHA's Rômulo Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iker Benvide in the 82nd minute of play. When Ricardo Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Caturiaro EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Linhares couldn't finish the play. After 87 minutes of play, Caturiaro EC's Ricardo Linhares made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rômulo Teles was left in no man's land by his defense there! 89 minutes into the game, Waldir Quadros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F C IGREJINHA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caturiaro EC the free kick. Waldir Quadros hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. A collision led to F C IGREJINHA getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Marcelo de Barros hit a great ball. In the 96th minute Waldir Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuca Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Iker Benvide left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caturiaro EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1.
