The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Monstros FC's Daniel Aguiar got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Luiz Gustavo Paraense was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cafu Ramos. Diego Hurko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Baracaja getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Afonsinho Tepedino hit a great ball. Evaristo Vergílio charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evaristo Vergílio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Monstros FC's Evaristo Vergílio got a free kick in the 12th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Emanuel Guerra kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luiz Gustavo Paraense. That made the score 1-1 in the 13 minute of play. Edson Cavalcante came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Monstros FC's Diego Hurko. But to his dismay, Diego Hurko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Emanuel Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Luiz Gustavo Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Gustavo Paraense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Guerra in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Monstros FC's goalkeeper Luiz Gustavo Paraense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Guerra. In the 29th minute of the match Filipe Loyola shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Gustavo Paraense showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Daniel Oliveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Gustavo Paraense was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 34th minute, Afonsinho Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Manfredo Alcântara notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Baracaja's Edson Cavalcante. Edson Cavalcante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luiz Gustavo Paraense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Guerra in the 40th minute. In the 43rd minute of the match, Emanuel Guerra got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luiz Gustavo Paraense was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 45th minute Daniel Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Gustavo Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Gustavo Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diego Hurko was the one to do the kick off. Monstros FC's Luiz Gustavo Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Oliveira in the 52nd minute of play. Diego Hurko who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Edson Cavalcante when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Daniel Oliveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Gustavo Paraense was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. A collision led to Baracaja getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Cristiano Bueno hit a great ball. Luiz Gustavo Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Oliveira's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. If Diego Hurko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72nd play minutes Diego Hurko shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Edson Cavalcante and just under the crossbar into goal. 76 minutes into the match, Monstros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Guerra came free, but Luiz Gustavo Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ismael Mattos made in the 79th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Monstros FC's Geovânio Nascimento. After a defensive mix-up in Monstros FC's zone, Daniel Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Gustavo Paraense came out of the goal and Daniel Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emanuel Guerra took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Gustavo Paraense. Luiz Gustavo Paraense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Manfredo Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Diego Hurko came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edson Cavalcante could save by the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Monstros FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
